Tara Road Audio Book
A newlywed couple manage, against all the odds, to purchase the home of their dreams. It’s Dublin 1982 and property speculation is the ‘in thing’; the street they bought the house on is in a flourishing part of the city. The assorted inhabitants however, find that the street has become an avenue of dreams; some shattered, others formed anew. The audiobook centres on Ria; her dearest friend, Rosemary Ryan, a stunning, egocentric career lady; Gertie, the wife battered by her drunken husband; and a number of other fascinating women, every one of whom has a secret not for sharing.
Ria, the apparently happy mother of two and housewife is faced with some inescapable home truths and a chance telephone call from the States will alter her life forever, making her abandon all the illusions she had about men, about women, and about marriage. But the Connecticut phone caller, Marilyn Vine, faces her own problems when she and Ria trade houses for the summer.
